Galle on satamakaupunki Sri Lankassa, 116 kilometriä Colombosta. Vuonna 2007 siellä oli noin 95 000 asukasta.[1] Se kärsi pahoin tapaninpäivän 2004 tsunamista, kaupungissa kuoli tuhansia.


Gallen historia alkaa joidenkin lähteisen mukaan jo Kuningas Salomon ajoista. Kanelia, norsunluuta ja riikinkukkoja laivattiin Gallen kautta jo kauan ennen ajanlaskumme alkua. Ennen brittiläisten siirtomaa-aikaa Galle oli saaren tärkein satama - britit kehittivät Colombon satamaa.


Gallen linnoitus on UNESCOn maailmanperintökohde ja suurin jäljellä oleva eurooppalaisten rakentama linnoitus Aasiassa. Se samoin kuin koko Gallen vanha kaupunki edustaa siirtomaatyyliä, jossa eurooppalaisten rakennustyyli yhdistyy paikallisiin vaikutteisiin.[2]
