กวางซีกา (อังกฤษ: Sika deer, Spotted deer, Japanese deer) เป็นกวางที่มีถิ่นกำเนิดในเอเชียตะวันออกและถูกนำเข้าไปเป็นสัตว์เลี้ยงในหลายพื้นที่บนโลก อดีตพบในตอนใต้ทางภาคเหนือของประเทศเวียดนามไปจนถึงทางเหนือของรัสเซียตะวันออกไกล[1] ปัจจุบันเกือบจะสูญพันธุ์แล้วในทุกพื้นที่ ยกเว้นในประเทศญี่ปุ่นที่มีประชากรหนาแน่น[2]


โดยชื่อ "ซีกา" มาจากภาษาญี่ปุ่น:  โรมาจิ: 鹿 ทับศัพท์: shika แปลว่า "กวาง" กวางซีกาเป็นกวางขนาดกลางมีความสูงจรดหัวไหล่ 50-95 เซนติเมตร หนัก 30-70 กิโลกรัม เพศผู้มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าเพศเมีย มีขนตามลำตัวสีน้ำตาลส้ม มีจุดสีขาวกระจายอยู่ทั่วไป หางสั้นมีสีน้ำตาลอ่อน ก้นมีสีขาว สีขนบริเวณด้านบนและด้านข้าง ลำตัวอาจมีสีที่เข้มกว่าสีขนบริเวณท้องและด้านในของขา มีเขาเฉพาะเพศผู้ เขามีกิ่งก้านแผ่อแอกมาเพียงข้างละ 4 ก้าน


มักอาศัยอยู่รวมกันเป็นฝูงใหญ่ในป่าเบญจพรรณ หรือทุ่งหญ้า ในฝูงมักประกอบไปด้วยเพศเมียเป็นส่วนใหญ่ กวางเพศผู้มีการผลัดเขาทิ้งทุกปี[3]


กวางซีกา เป็นสัตว์ที่ชาวญี่ปุ่นเชื่อว่าเป็นสัตว์ที่รับใช้เทพเจ้า ในจังหวัดนะระ โดยเฉพาะใกล้ ๆ วัดโทได กวางซีกาที่อาศัยอยู่ที่นี่ ใช้ชีวิตอย่างเสรี โดยปะปนกับผู้คนทั่วไปโดยไม่มีผู้ใดทำอันตราย [4]
