There is an LST (Land Surface Temperature) plugin available for use with only pre-ver3 QGIS (by the look). This extracts temperature from TIR bands of Landsat images. I have looked around but haven't been able to find anything really specific on this plugin. It appears experimental by the look so not sure if this means that it hasn't yet been rejigged for 3 or whether it is not worth the effort.

If anybody has used it, can they comment on usefulness, accuracy, etc?

Could you please focus your question? Although this is an interesting question, it is likely to be closed by the community as being "Too broad".

  • Thanks Aaron. Have focused question - query is only on possible use of that specific QGIS LST plugin. It looks as though the Semi-Automatic Classification plugin (SCP) by Luca C will also do this so not sure if it has been superseded.
