I have created a table using this code:
library(data.table)
data<- data.table(Event = c("Winter", "Spring", "Summer"),
Zone1=c("December 16", "March 16", "April 29"),
Zone2=c("December 20", "March 09", "May 08"),
Zone3=c("December 12", "March 13", "April 26"))
grid.table(data)
Which produces the following table:
I wish to change the names "Zone1", "Zone2", "Zone3. to things like "Northern Baltimore", "Southern Baltimore", and "Delaware" respectively. How can I accomplish this using grid.table? Also how do I get rid of the numbering in the left?

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:
- "Questions relating to general IT or with no clear GIS component, are off-topic here but can be researched/asked at Stack Overflow (software development), Super User (computing hardware and software), Database Administrators (relational databases) and other SE sites" – Jeffrey Evans, Spacedman, Vince, rcs, ahmadhanb

This is not a spatial question and will be closed. Use names() with an assignment <- you can specify a column with an index eg., names(x)[2] <- "new" will change the second column name to "new".
