I am accessing shapefile from postgres,so while publishing i need to use PostGIS

thats what i m describing i tried with wms which didn't worked out , it will be sorted if shapefile is published as WFS which I don't know so I am here.

by default any layer you add to GeoServer will be published as WMS and WFS - can you expand on what you have done and what the problem is
