I am looking to model a downtown area but I want the generation of buildings to only happen on a random percentage of the properties. What code should I be using for this?

          I am assuming your building creating rule file has the start rule Lot.
          What you can do is to create your own rule file that imports the other file. Then your start rule contains a case statement with probabilities:

          import other : "pathToOtherRule.cga"

          @StartRule
          Lot -->
          case p(0.7):
          other.Lot
          else:
          NIL

          This gives you the building for 70% of the shapes and nothing for 30%.
          You can also use an attribute to drive the probability and make it easier to change it.
