We have a Thredds server with some layers with restricted access. What is the best approach to load this WMS layers from Leaflet?

UPDATE:
The site must be open (users can visualize layers), but we need to restrict access to Thredds to prevent unauthorized users to download the data. So, our web requests must login into thredds programmatically to show the layers, but a user who navigate directly to thredds should not be able to download data.
